Sunday Reset: A Reflection and a Breathing Practice

Blurred woman in a yellow dress stands in a rocky sea cave, with waves and a bright ocean opening to distant hills.

For my 2025 calendar, I reflected on my journey thus far. By that point I had created 13 calendars, so for the 14th edition I shared 12 photographs, one from each of my first 12 calendars, taking the audience on a journey from 2012 to 2023.

Along with the details of the calendar each photograph came from, I included wellness prompts. Each caption was paired with an inspiring activity or thought designed to help you pause, reflect, and engage with each month in a meaningful way. I also shared wellness videos led by talented practitioners, covering yoga, meditation, fitness, art therapy, and more, transforming the calendar into a year-long wellness retreat.

For this post, I want to share one of those prompts and videos with you as a Sunday reset. It also works as an afternoon pause, a morning practice, or whenever you happen to see this post.

The Reflection

What activities or moments bring you a sense of calm or joy? How often do you make space for them in your routine? If it's been a while, plan to engage in at least one of them this month and reconnect with what brings you peace.

The Practice

This month's video is led by Alyssa Rostant, founder of Mindset Breath. She is a certified breathwork facilitator whose mission is to help people embrace "Alivefulness": fully inhabiting body and mind while engaging with the present moment with energy, awareness, and vitality.

The exercise she shares is called the Traffic Light Practice, and it invites you to pause and reset.

I hope you feel inspired to take out your journal, reflect on the prompt, and try the practice too. If you do, I'd love to hear how it felt.
